Your split unit already has an infrared remote control. The IRB-4-1-00 makes it a connected device – without replacing the unit, without a proprietary hub, and without abandoning your original remote control.
The problem: a split unit isolated from your home automation or BMS
Most residential and tertiary air conditioners only operate via infrared remote control. It's impossible to integrate them into your Zigbee gateway or BMS, to program them intelligently, or to automate them based on presence or window opening.
The NodOn AC Infrared Controller solves this problem simply, during renovation, without touching the existing installation.
The IRB-4-1-00: a virtual Zigbee remote control
Compact (90 × 70 × 25 mm), the controller is placed near your split unit and emits 360° infrared codes to control it exactly like your original remote control – but from your Zigbee home automation gateway.

Installation: two power options
The IRB-4-1-00 connects to your Zigbee network via radio, but it needs a power supply. Two solutions depending on your configuration:
|
Option 1
USB-C
If you have a USB socket or charger nearby, simply connect the controller via its USB-C port (5V DC — cable and adapter not supplied) and place it on a piece of furniture or fix it to the wall.
|
Option 2 — Recommended
IBH-1-3-00 Wall Mount
Direct power supply from the split unit's 230V AC terminal block. Clean installation, no visible cables, in the ideal location for optimal infrared control.
|
The IBH-1-3-00: the accessory that changes everything
The AC Infrared Controller Mount is a dedicated accessory, designed to work in conjunction with the IRB-4-1-00. It fulfills two roles at once: wall mount and 230V power supply.
Its operation is simple. The electronic part of the mount fits into the rear part of the controller, under the removable cover, and powers it directly with 5V DC from the 230V mains. A one-meter cable (supplied) connects to the Live/Neutral terminal block of your split unit. The controller, once clipped into its mount, is exactly where it needs to be: right next to the split, in an ideal position to cover its infrared receiver.
Wall mounting is done with double-sided adhesive (supplied) or screws (not supplied), with no drilling required in most cases.
Configuration in 3 steps
|
1
|
Infrared setup via the NodOn Climate app
Download the free NodOn Climate app (iOS / Android). The controller connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone. Enter the brand of your air conditioner, then point the split remote control at the controller once: the app searches its library for compatible IR codes and suggests testing them. Your split unit is recognized in a few seconds. If your model is not referenced, manual learning allows you to capture the codes from your original remote control.

|

|
Inclusion in your Zigbee network
Once the IR codes are configured, include the controller in your Zigbee gateway (Jeedom, Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, Homey…). Activate inclusion mode on your gateway, press the controller's configuration button once — the green LED flashes during the search, stays solid for 3 seconds if inclusion is successful, then turns off. The controller appears as a Zigbee thermostat (Device ID 0x0301).

Control and automations
From your home automation interface, you can control the temperature, mode, airflow, vane orientation, and On/Off status, as well as create advanced automations based on your usage.
|
What you can automate
| 🚪 Automatic shutdown of the split unit when a window is open | 👤 Regulation based on presence or absence in the room |
| 🕐 Time programming: comfort temperature in the evening, reduced at night | 🌡️ Cross-regulation with a room temperature sensor |
The products
The IRB-4-1-00 works autonomously (USB-C power) or in conjunction with the IBH-1-3-00 for a wall installation directly connected to the split unit.
