What is SmartThings?

Thanks to an intuitive application (available on smartphone, tablet or computer), it becomes possible:

• To interact with your home with a simple gesture,

• Control equipment by voice, via a voice assistant like Bixby, Alexa or Google Assistant.

SmartThings relies on a home automation gateway (also called a hub), which centralizes all the connected devices in the home and allows them to communicate with each other, whether they are Wi-Fi, Z-Wave... or Zigbee.

Works with SmartThings: the official label

To ensure a reliable and consistent experience, Samsung created the Works with SmartThings program. This label identifies all products (bulbs, plugs, sensors, etc.) tested and certified to work perfectly with the SmartThings ecosystem.

Hundreds of major brands are participating: Philips Hue, Somfy, Bosch, Yale, and many others. Before purchasing a new device for your connected home, simply check the dedicated website (list of compatible devices) to see if it has the "Works with SmartThings" label. This ensures that it will be automatically recognized and usable without any unpleasant surprises.

Zigbee: the key protocol for the connected home

Zigbee is one of the most widely used standards in home automation today. Initially designed for the connected home, it combines simplicity, reliability, and interoperability.

The advantages of Zigbee:

• Open and universal: it allows devices from different brands to communicate with each other, without proprietary constraints.
• Quick installation: pairing in just a few seconds is all it takes to integrate new equipment.

Which Zigbee NodOn products are compatible with SmartThings?

Did you know? Even outside of the "Works with SmartThings" program, it's often possible to add new devices to your SmartThings hub, as long as they use a supported protocol, such as Zigbee.

Good news: several Zigbee NodOn products are perfectly recognized by a SmartThings hub (pairing and control).

To date, here is the list of NodOn Zigbee products compatible with a SmartThings box :

• Zigbee On/Off Lighting Module (SIN-4-2-20): to control the switching on of lamps or small appliances remotely.
• Zigbee multifunction module (SIN-4-1-20): for various automation systems (lighting, dry contact, boiler, etc.).
• Zigbee multifunction module with metering (SIN-4-1-21): same function with additional monitoring of electricity consumption, for a hot water tank for example.
• Zigbee roller shutter module (SIN-4-RS-20): automate your electric roller shutters, control them remotely or according to time scenarios!
• Zigbee Smart Energy Monitor (SEM-4-1-00): to monitor your home's electricity consumption or solar production in real time.
• Zigbee Temperature and Humidity Sensor (STPH-4-1-00): to monitor indoor comfort and trigger automatic actions (ventilation, heating, etc.).

In just a few minutes, your SmartThings hub recognizes these NodOn Zigbee devices and integrates them into your personalized routines and scenarios, for an even more connected, smart… and tailor-made home!
